Part-Time Retirement Plan Specialist

Description:The Retirement Plan Specialist is responsible for group and individual employee education meetings on topics related to retirement benefit plans and retirement readiness. Meetings are held at the client work place for groups of 25-75 employees, in addition to one to one personal consultations. The On-Site Education Specialist will assist individual participants in completing transactions, answering questions related to their retirement accounts, but will not provide investment advice.

The Retirement Plan Specialist is an important member of our Participant Services team and represents Milliman to clients and their employees. He or she will coordinate with other Milliman consultants who are responsible for client relationships, as well as work with clients directly to determine their education meeting needs.
Duties:• Meet individually with employees to assist them in enrolling in the retirement plan, completing retirement account transactions, and answer questions related to their accounts via the participant website
• Conduct on-site employee meetings in a manner that is interesting and informative to the audience. Behavior and demeanor reflect positively on Milliman and gain the confidence and trust of those attending the meetings. Understand the needs of the audience and present the materials to capture the attention and benefit the listener
• Study and be knowledgeable about the client's retirement plan provisions and investment options
• Assist in the customization of PowerPoint presentations based on topic templates for meetings, identify meeting handout materials, and coordinate pre-meeting logistics with client
• Learn retirement planning strategies and be able to communicate them to plan participants
• Efficiently use Milliman’s retirement planning tools designed for plan participants and assist them to understand the basics of investing their retirement accounts
• Respond to internal calls or email requests to research an account or plan question
• Completely master the retirement content and be able to answer employee questions accurately and concisely
• Ensure final work products are high quality and provided in a timely fashion
• Perform other duties as requested by Milliman or the client
Qualifications:• Experience with and understanding of employee benefit retirement plans is required
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required (a degree in Communications or financial field will be considered a plus)
• Superb communication skills, ability to prepare and deliver presentation covering complex topics in a simple style
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service
• Able to demonstrate strong organizational skills to track client meeting records and provide summary reports
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
• Experience in training and development is a plus
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Able to work independently while also contributing to team environment

This position is typically a 30 hour a week contract position. Compensation is paid for the hours worked. No employee benefits included at this time.
